I started working with a Dr. Fitzmaurice in July of 2013. He successfully operated on the thumbs of both hands (2011) and then carpel tunnel on both wrists (2013). Throughout the process I have found him to be competent, caring and attentive to my situation, so much so that just prior to my carpel tunnel surgery he began asking about a neuropathy/drop foot issue I was dealing with on an ongoing basis. Although he had nothing to gain, he took the time to discuss my situation with a foot and ankle specialist who reviewed my case and determined that I have a repairable paroneal nerve compression. I had suffered with the drop foot problem and agonized through several lengthy procedures for over a year before Dr. Fitzmaurice took the time to get me the help I needed. It is rare to find a doctor that is willing to look beyond his own area of expertise. Additionally, I would like to commend his staff for their friendliness and efficiency and it all starts with something as simple as having a knowledgeable and effective staff member answer the telephone (no telephone tree with a promise to call back).
