The Fitzmaurice Hand Institute participates in many different insurance plans. It is our goal to accommodate our patients, and help to make our services accessible to everyone. If you have health insurance, it’s important to understand the terms of your policy, and the individual benefits that are applicable to our services. We find that it’s also good to learn about other options available which can save some patients money, depending on their specific insurance benefits.
As a courtesy to our patients, we will bill your insurance company when provided with the necessary information. Please realize that your policy is a contract between you and the insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. Any required co-payments, deductibles or non-covered services are beyond our control, and are your responsibility. In addition, your insurance company may or may not pay all charges. Contact your insurance company if you have specific questions about your coverage.
In an effort to help our patients understand our fees, and their potential responsibility, The Fitzmaurice Hand Institute provides representatives who can review your insurance information, discuss options, and determine what might be best for your circumstances.
A referral generally isn’t necessary when making an appointment at our office, and it’s not required by many PPO insurance plans. If in doubt, please be sure to check with your particular insurance provider. If you are under the care of another physician, we always welcome their referral and we are dedicated to keeping your doctor informed about your care, condition and progress.
